It's a Saturday Post!

Well, I threw out my back at work Thursday, so I have been recuperating for the past couple of days. It's been painful, blah. Shelley had something similar with her neck, so we have been hurting units for a while now. I am happy to say I am on the mend much quicker than usual, and I think it's because I actually *gasp* stuck to my exercise routine prior to this. I think I mentioned that I was planning on trying to work on being more fit, and I am happy to say I have been moderately successful. There were a few hiccups, like forgetting a night here or there, but I have noticed some results. I don't get winded like I used to when walking to the bus. Also, I am upright and moving much faster after this latest back issue. Part of it was I got to the chiropractor right away (he's down the hall from my work), but I have to attribute it to actually working on my core muscles too. PS, if you have had kids, don't do crunches; they don't help. Look up belly breathing exercises, trust me!

I have several things on my plate. Currently working on baby booties, and a baby blanket too, to sell at work. My boss is still graciously selling anything I make for the shop. The fingerless gloves are still doing well; now I am making some custom ones in Twins baseball colors, and will be making several more in the blue and white, just for one client.   O.o   So, I am keeping ever so busy lately, haha! My poor, aching fingers... Naw, I love it! This has been a dream for a long time for me, and while it isn't a money maker necessarily, it is awesome to have my stuff go out the door with a satisfied person. I don't have a ton of pictures lately; been too busy making stuff. Shelley has been bugging me to send stuff to her for Instagram, so check that out for more recent pictures.
Speaking of fingerless gloves, I made 2 pairs of modified gloves for this lovely young lady, Odile, and she loved them! Here she is, modeling them for me:

She is adorable!

Now I need to find her some beret patterns to make to go with those gloves...
I was going to do a live stream of the crochet washcloth last Thursday, but throwing out one's back tends to make that difficult. I am going to do it again this week, and I am hoping it will be either Tuesday evening, or Thursday. I have picked up an extra day this week for work, so it will be a busy one! Also, Saturday the 31st is my 42nd birthday! I have decided to throw a "Meaning of Life" party (and if you get the reference, you are awesome).
So, lately it has been a lot of work and making of gloves. And I still need to finish Christmas commissions...AAAHHH!

Shelley has been posting a lot on our Instagram; she is still working on quilting, etc. And, she is coming back to stay this late spring!!! *kermitflail*
So, that is what we are up to, and hope the weather is lovely where you are today!
Love, Alyssa and Shelley, 2 Dainty Crafters!
